Major Caine has filled the various appointments of Regimental Judge Advocate, of Adjutant and of Major of Brigade at Bhurtpoor, as well as Major of Brigade at Meerut, and Deputy Judge Advocate General of that Division. Whilst in the 14th Regiment, he had the honor of being Aide-de-Camp for three years to the lamented Chief, the late Sir Samford Whittingham, and Aide-de-Camps for one year to the late Major General the Honourable John Ramsay, and appointed by the British Government in India on this occasion.
